I tried this. My cat walked up to the cucumber, sniffed it, then walked by. Cats are not scared of cucumbers. You put any strange object near a cat while he’s eating & he will be startled to find a new object where there wasn’t one before.

The cats think it is a BIG SNAKE !!! Thats why they jump. House Cats hunt tiny snakes at night, but a snake as big as a cucumber, …. thats another story
