Cats are VERY careful to avoid scratching a person’s face. Cats only scratch the face (of a person or an animal) when they are in a SERIOUS fight. The face of any animal (including humans) is off-limits except when cats are fighting with the full intention of inflicting serious damage.
However, people should avoid provoking cats if a cat is touching a person’s face with their paw. It could be a warning that the cat is getting VERY angry.

I hope my pet show can make you happy.
One thing they do hate is the squeaky squeal of the kissing noise. It’s very high pitched. Too much so for their acute hearing and too close to their ears. It’s painful. If you have to get your nasty hoomin cooties on your cat, at least try not to make that kissy noise.
